The Association for climbing and walking leaders
MLTA aims to provide good communication between the leaders and the mountain training boards allowing members to keep up to date with current developments in mountain training. It also aims to provide appropriate training opportunities in the form of workshops and seminars.
Membership
Full Membership is open to leaders who have passed the assessment course of one of the national leadership awards of the UK’s Mountain Leader Training Boards.
The relevant awards are SPA, WGL, ML(S), ML(W), and higher awards.
Associate Membership is open to leaders who have registered for any of the above awards but have yet to pass an assessment course.

Additional Benefits
MLTA is run from the Mountain Leader Training UK offices. MLTA members have direct access to the highly experienced MLTUK staff members who are IFMGA mountain guides and Mountaineering Instructors with wide experience in not only mountain training but many other aspects of outdoor education.
Training events such as a winter seminars, GPS training and child protection will be arranged at venues around Britain. Other training events can be set up in response to member requests.
Future developments planned are in the provision of affordable and appropriate professional negligence insurance and extending the range of trade deals available.
