Pine Martens in the UK

Please see attached document.

The Vincent Wildlife Trust is currently running a project entitled Prospects for Pine Martens, which aims to find about more about pine martens – one of the UK’s rarest mammals – in England and Wales. We are currently appealing to various countryside/outdoor pursuit publications to help us to detect this elusive mammal and I wonder if you will be able to help.

Pine martens are now restricted to upland craggy areas, including the Lake District, North Yorkshire, the Pennines and Snowdonia, where many people frequent for outdoor pursuits, particularly climbing and mountaineering. Tracking down pine martens is a difficult business, and so we’re appealing for anyone who thinks they might have seen one to come forward and report the sighting to us.
